Makayla Doyle, Assistant
Makayla Doyle is a Senior at Hunter College, graduating this December. She has spent her years at Hunter as a Theatre Major. She is interested in directing and stage management and has enjoyed her time with getting experience in stage management. She got to spend her last semester working as an Assistant Stage Manager on the CoLab production of Eurydice. CoLab introduced her to new ways of creating theatre without being in the same room as the others involved. She hopes that others can enjoy this process and learn new things from this experience like she did!
Questions from Students
Why did you want to take on the role you chose? What challenges did you face using Zoom?
I wanted to be involved in something creative and different for my last semester. I learned so much with the challenges on zoom. There were difficulties because it was new to everyone during this process but the team really enjoyed working hard to make this memorable for everyone involved. I got to experience ASM through a completely different perspective of how I am used to. It was hard to come up with things for me to do since we weren’t in person and couldn’t deal with props, and sets. But all of the jobs I was given like reading stage directions, filling in for actors, recording parts of the show and helping with rehearsal reports were all helpful in making me a more well rounded experience with theatre.
